We have designed an installation that allows for the hermetic sealing of the process of disconnecting the LPG filling connector for rail and road tankers. The designed solution allows for emptying the inter-valve space using a vacuum pump and discharging the residue to the discharge network. The new design ensures safe operation and no release of significant amounts of explosive LPG gas into the atmosphere, which escaped outside the installation during the switching of wagons, creating a dangerous spill.

This project required the development of a concept of operation and further R&D work. Our design team performed a series of calculations, developed a P&ID diagram and selected a set of devices that would allow for correct operation. After completion a detailed inventory, we recreated a 3D computer model of the existing development. Based on this model, we designed a new installation and prepared detailed design documentation.

The installation has already been built, a series of tests and trials have been carried out, which enabled the optimization of the emptying process. We have received feedback from the user that the whole thing works correctly and the comfort and safety of work have been significantly corrected.
